So! We are unloading all of our organic veggie loot from the car after we get back from Vermont when Mark falls off of the broken step in our front yard. After our separate but equal, half-silent mutual freak-out (Mark doesn’t have insurance and it’s looking like he can’t walk), Mark is able to hobble into the house. We wiggle his foot out of his shoe only to find that his ankle is quickly doubling in size. At this point we considered taking him to the emergency room, but then calmed down and decided to consult that great doctor available to us all… the internet. It really does know everything. So I get some ice for his ankle, give him some naproxen, a pillow to elevate his foot and the laptop. What does the great internet say? It says: 1.) ice the injury to prevent/reduce swelling, 2.) Elevate limb 3.) use compression bandages, 4.) I forget 4… I hope it wasn’t too important cuz we are only doing the first 3. Really.
